PAIGE DOMURAT, SR from MUSKEGO, WI

4 yr. HS Pom, 1 yr. captain

What do you like best about your team? What I love most about my team is how close all of the girls have become. It is very rare that you find a group of 24 teenage girls that will get along as good as we do. Obviously this is a benefit to us because it helps us dance really well together, but being such good friends also enables us to have fun while we are dancing and make each minute we have together the best it can be.
What does youre team participate in within the school and outside of school? As a team the past couple of years we have been concentrating on creating a good image for the team. We have been working harder and doing better at competitions and any other performances we do. We perform at Varsity football games, soccer games, & boys/girls Varsity basketball games. Our classmates, all of the parents, and the staff at our school have become big fans of our team. They really enjoy watching us perform. We go to camp every summer, which is the greatest bonding experience for everyone on the team, especially the younger girls. Another bonding activity we did this year was a “Boot Camp”. The SRs went and picked all of the girls on our team up at an early hour in the morning. Before we started practice, we played fun, team bonding games to get everyone to fully wake up. Then, at practice the girls were rewarded with little army men toys when they did a skill or a routine good. The girl with the most army men at the end of practice was awarded the “Boot Camp Champ” shirt. It was a fun way for everyone to get to know each other a little better. We also participate in about 5 competitions each year. However, performing well is not the only thing we want to be remembered for. We have started doing 3 community service projects each year. Some of these were a necessity drive for the Milwaukee Woman's Shelter, and a food drive for the Muskego Food pantry. We have visited the Pro Health Care Regency Muskego Senior Living Center to dance for the residents and visit with them for a while. And we also created a team from the girls and some of their mothers to participate in the Waukesha River Walk for Breast Cancer. We all raised as much money for the cause as we could, and we ended up being one of the top supporting teams in the whole event. The girls on my team and I get the greatest feeling from knowing that we were able to help someone out, brighten someones day, give back to our community, and make a difference. Favorite Movie- Miss Congeniality Favorite TV Show- America's Funniest Home Videos Listening to on my ipod- Mostly Country, but a good mix of all Favorite type of food- Classic chicken & mashed potatoes Favorite color- Orange Favorite School Subject- Biology What do your best friends like about you- My personality & the advice I give Favorite team competition- State When I grow up I hope to be- a dermatologist Pet peeve?- When people's tags stick out the back of their shirts- I don't even have to know the person to tuck their tag in- I usually get a weird look, but then they usually thank me:) Favorite dessert- Chocolate Extreme Blizzard from dairy Queen Vacation of choice- Anywhere warm where I can see the ocean (I never have) because WI can get so cold! Favorite school sport- Poms, of course! Favorite candy- Kit Kat bars Biggest wish- To be successful & have a good life Last itunes song I bough- "Country Folks (living out loud)" by The Lost Trailers Last book I read- a little Halloween book that my 7yr old sister made for school Favorite make-up- Mascara How many jeans in closet- 12-I'm addicted I dislike- Mean people & pork chops I absolutely love- My friends, family, cat & chocolate Anything else about yourself- I am a strong role model for young girls and always strive to be helpful, caring, respectful, and work beyond what is expected of me. I never change who I am, unless it is a positive change, and encourage others to do the same. I continually work on being the best me I can be. I have a great personality and can get along with pretty much anyone I meet. I am very adventurous and I can easily say that I truly love life.
