The new hotel was absolutely beautiful and it was fun to be back at Forest View! Thank you for such a lovely weekend. The event, as usual, was outstanding. Everyone from the EC North Team enjoyed Midwest. We wereso excited to watch our girls perform for everyone and enjoyed watching all of the other teams. I think the highlight for Carly was getting to take class w/Kasper and seeing you, Mareta and Betsy!! Highlights for me was seeing our Senior girls perform their kick routine at Midwest, the Jesse White Tumblers (WOW!!), and getting a picture of our team on
the grand staircase at the hotel! All of the contestants were so outstanding. Again, thank you for providing all of these lovely opportunities for everyone!! I am sad that this was Carly's last Midwest experience. Hello to all,

Just sitting here thinking about all of the wonderful things to come in the next few days for all of us at Midwest and I just realized that I never sent a thank you to Besty and all of the Badgies from our CMU camp. Camp was such a wonderful experience for all of the squads that attended and once again Badgerette has made every girl feel special and helped each squad work and perform to their personal best. I really love how the girls bond as a team at these camp sessions. They learned together, walked together, danced together, laughed together and, that last night, cried together. It was especially touching when Betsy gave us our farewell and told each squad how truley special they each were and how touched she was when she watched them all.

I hope everyone has a safe journey to Schaumburg and I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!!

I want to say thank you for the experience I had at camp, my team and I had sooooo much fun! We had a really new team this year and we all got to know each other soo much better thanks to your camp! I hope you are doing ok and not having any late side effects from falling off the stage lol (but really, I'm glad you didn't get hurt). Thank you for putting on such a great camp. Badgerette has gone above and beyond our expectations for a delightful camp experience. The girls had a wonderful, educational experience at camp, and we as coaches were delighted to see that. Not only were they given a lot of time to thoroughly learn and clean the routines as a a squad, the girls were given great feedback from the Badgerette staff on how to improve. The girls were were inspired by many other squads and elated to meet so many new girls. They were also taught some great lessons about sportsmanship and motivation at camp that will be sure to make the upcoming football and basketball seasons a hit! My camp experience this year is definitely one I will never forget! As an incoming freshman, I was a little nervous about camp because I didn’t really know what to expect. That was a totally different situation once I stepped into the whole atmosphere of the classes and all of the girls that I shared my camp experience with! The Spartanettes and I bonded so much throughout camp and it has made our squad feel that much closer. We all had so much fun learning and performing all of the dances you taught us and I cant wait to come back next year! We will see you all at Midwest and I’m sure it will only get better from here!

Dear Anne, Sarah Bly, and the entire Badgie Staff,

We wanted to thank each and every one of you for an incredible experience last week at the UW-Whitewater camp session. After being away from camp for the past couple of years, it was great to be greated with open arms and to see how much the team really benefits from this experience. I can already see an improvement in the girls confidence and they came out of camp a true DANCE TEAM! They loved stretching and technique class (I have walked into practice the past two days to see girls sitting there, using their tennis balls), they embraced the hard work and the goals they set for themselves and worked very hard to achieve everything they wanted, and were blown away with their invitation to Midwest. They also learned from so many fantastic teams at camp what it means to work as a team and to really entertain your crowd. Although my team is small this year, they have big dreams and I know that after the help and support Badgerette has given them, this is only the start to achieving those dreams. We look forward to seeing you all at Midwest and GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THE TEAMS....WE CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOUR ROUTINES!

Dear Anne,
I just wanted to write and say that I am so thankful that you were our squad sister this year at camp! My favorite part of camp was the time we spent sharing words of encouragement in the circle. I wanted to share with you the story of my last year on poms. When the Brookfield East girls started their senior kick, I couldn’t help but think of my mom. She passed away in December because of Breast Cancer. The song they performed to holds special meaning for me because she sung it to my uncle the day before she passed away. It made me remember her fighting spirit and how I have found the same spirit within me. I spent last summer as an alternate for open and short, because before last summer, I had no pom or dance experience. Once the school year started, our squad decided to make a JV team, and I moved down to be a leader on that squad. From my squad, I’ve found overwhelming support and an amazing new connection with members of the squad. I’ve always been an independent person, but this year, I realized that I could rely on other people to carry me, especially when I can’t carry myself. In my squad, I’ve found a family. I don’t know if I ever could have made it this far without their love and support.
I am so thankful that there is an organization like Badgerette that is about finding that inner strength, and family within your team. I can’t imagine how my different my high school experience would have been if I hadn’t joined my squad. I absolutely love Badgerette and all it stands for! Once again, I want to thank you for your support and encouragement. Even though my mom had to leave early, I know she is so proud of everything we have accomplished, and I know she is still with us.

I can't even begin to explain how memorable my senior year camp at St. Norbert's was and I owe it all to you!! Being a senior on my squad really made me look at everything in a whole new way. It was so important to me to see my squad grow as performers and become such good friends. I'm so proud of my squad. If it weren't for the opportunities we were given at camp I don't think we would have realized how important it is that if we all work together and give everything we've got that we can achieve our goals. All of you were so welcoming and caring that it made our stay at St. Norbert's even more enjoyable. For the past four years that I have been a Lancerette I have always looked forward to spending the week away at camp but this year I was left with a bittersweet feeling. I know that I still have an entire year to spend with the girls I love on my squad but I've also come to realize that my years as a camper at Badgerette are coming to an end. I just wanted to let you know how much of an impact Badgerette has made on my pom-pon career, I have met some of the most genuinely nice people and have made some of the most cherished memories and I thank you for everything you've done!

Dear Badgies (and of course Anne)-
This year at camp was my third year, but by far the best one yet. Everything seemed so laid back and less stressful. Also, this year really seemed to show me the reason that I do spend hundreds of hours in a stinky gym with 19 sweaty girls- I love it. I love having the feeling of complete bliss when you leave the floor, and I love all 19 of these girls.

If you've never been to Badgerette camp, this feeling you get over the four days is nearly impossible to explain, and probably impossible to get. Every girl who has gone to camp knows what I'm talking about, and I would just like to thank all the badgies and Anne for providing a "safe place" where us girls can just get away from the world for a week, and really feel respected and cared for. I can't wait to come back next year for my final year of camp and share this wonderful experience with my team again! All the sweat and stress is worth it in the end, after you realize the real reason why you're doing what you're doing!!!

They had such a wonderful time at camp this summer, which is why they are really bummed girls are out of town for Midwest. They loved camp and every part about it (even the food). I have heard only positive comments about the experience, which is awesome. They loved the tennis balls and so did I, what a great idea! The staff was amazing and it felt like we got a lot accomplished in the short amount of time. The routines were great and the girls loved them all, as well as the music. We definitely have routines to do at Girls basketball games this year. Thank you to everyone that made this camp a great experience.

The girls had a great time at camp they view it as the true beginning to their season. They have tons of fun and quirky traditions that they really enjoy and they get so much out of watching the other teams! It was a great move to bring them to Norb's last year! Thank you to you and the staff for an outstanding job! I love some of the changes that you have made and the emphasis on how to be good sports and what to really focus on. The review sessions each morning were great because at pre-breakfast practices when people had specific choreography questions, we were able to alert everyone to watch and/or ask for clarifications during the review. GREAT, very practical addition to the program. They have kept their tennis balls in their backpack and can't wait to use them during the season. Finally, for BC specifically, everyone's comments on our comment tape were all along the same lines. It was so helpful because it helped them to hear and see where they could step it up as a team and set realistic and attainable goals for Midwest.

I want to sincerely thank you for this year's camp experience. You gave the kids more opportunities to work outside of sessions and be able to relax a bit before the next session. Thank you for that. As a coach, I also really appreciate your candor, honesty and helpful hints in dealing with "pom problems" and preparing routines for nightly ratings and the Competition routine for Midwest.

As always, Badgerette is the best way for my girls to begin the year. Your emphasis on sportsmanship, attention to detail, and appreciation of the "experience" of being part of a team is a life lesson the girls never forget, and, really, that's what it's all about!

Hey Anne,

I just wanted to say thanks again for making my last camp the best I've ever been to. The girls and I are really looking forward to midwest. Its sad to know that this part of my life will be ending this year but the experiences ive had and everything I have learned cannot be replaced and I owe a lot of that to you. Thank you so much for an awesome camp session. Our squad had so much fun and learned a lot of great new moves, routines, and ways to work on our technique at camp this past week. And we cannot wait to incorporate them into our practices as well as the rest of our season. We were so excited to receive an invitation to Midwest and cannot wait to see the new venue. Onalaska started going to your camps just three years ago and it has made a profound impact on our program. Onalaska recently went from not going to state 4 years ago, to just two weeks ago taking second in Jazz and fourth in Pom at State.
